Center for ADR: Annual Conference

On the afternoon of June 22, Mr. Creo presented to 30 professionals from all areas of dispute resolution, Lawyers, Mediators and Interns from the master level to the novice. He led an engaging dialogue about the core nature of mediation and the function of the mediator. His program was titled, Asymmetry in Mediation: How to Successfully Mediate in an Unbalanced Process.

Hired Guns: Legal Advocacy / Balance of Power / Ethical Issues
LOCATION: Babst, Calland, Clements & Zomnir, P.C., Pittsburgh, PA.
Robert A. Creo facilitated a one and a half hour roundtable discussion on Ethical Issues and different views of the appropriate role of the mediator. This discussion was hosted on June 19, 2006, by the Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania. The session was attended by mediators of varying backgrounds. Both lawyers and non-lawyers, the newly trained and veteran mediators were in attendance.

Mr. Creo was a guest speaker on April 22nd for a conflict resolution course for graduate students at Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Creo spoke to the class about what it is like to resolve med-mal conflicts, including those involving trauma and death.

Mr. Creo presented at the Michigan State Bar Association: ADR Section's Skill Advancement Group's Annual Meeting. Mr. Creo also facilitated group discussions during the groups annual conference.

Mr. Creo was recognized in the 7th Edition of Who's Who in American Education, scheduled for publication in December 2005.

Italy - Creo Provides Basic Mediator Training
Robert A. Creo visited Rome, Italy to teach mediation to three separate sections of students enrolled in a masters of mediation degree program. This masters is approved by the European union and is a two year program consisting of 18 full day lessons, grading assignments, and an examination. It is offered by the Istituto Carlo Amore, please visit www.mediazione.it.
Professor Creo has been on the faculty of the istituto since 1999 and usually teaches 2 or 3 of the 18 lessons. There are about 50 professionals, lawyers, educators, therapists, and psychologists from all over Italy enrolled in these sessions in Rome and Milan.

Geneva - Seminar
In June of 2005 Mr. Creo also traveled to Geneva, Switzerland to conduct a CAS Seminar hosted by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
