ROBERT A. CREO ADVANCES MEDIATION IN ITALY

Robert Creo in Italy

On 24 March 2001, a basic mediation workshop was conducted under the sponsorship of the Istituto Carlo Amore of Roma, Italia. Over 25 lawyers, psychologists, educators and other professionals participated in the eight hour seminar. The theme was Mediation as a Tri-Lateral Negotiation with the focus on the role of the mediator and options to structure the mediation to meet the legal, cultural and value needs of all the stakeholders in the process. Participants included lawyers from Bologna, Sardinia, Naples who have been active in introducing mediation to the Italian culture. The workshop was conducted in English with a translator assisting Mr. Creo and the students.

Italian Students

In May of 2003, Mr. Creo returned to Italy to offer training in Naples, Milan and Rome. In Naples on May 24, 2003, he was joined by fellow International Academy of Mediators member Tracy Allen in a seminar on Commercial Mediation: Fundamental Techniques of Negotiation, Concilliation and Mediation. He then traveled to Milan on May 26, 2003 to conduct a half-day seminar and finished off his Italy training for May 2003 on May 31 with an eight-hour training workshop in Rome.
